This is a beautifully written book that reflects on some of the subtleties of God’s divine plan for our lives. In The Grand Weaver, Zacharias elaborates on the intricate technique of weaving. Each delicate strand represents an event that has taken place in our lives, which eventually form a masterpiece of tapestry. The Lord’s grandeur plan involves every aspect of our lives, from our DNA to our disappointments. God has a destiny that He wants to fulfill in all of His people. The Grand Weaver has created such an exquisite piece of fine art that it becomes irresistible to the longing soul.

What makes great chick-lit? In my opinion, it’s an endearing character with a great sense of humor, or who is just a tad sarcastic, maybe even a bit “snarky,” as some would say. And, now that I am growing older, as are some chick-lit (mom-lit) heroines, I look for these same characters plus a toddler or two.
Claire Allan’s Rainy Days and Tuesdays has all this and more. I identified with the “chick” of the story, Grace, at every turn. She is a bit plump, a bit snarky, and a bit discontent with life in general. When one of Grace’s co-workers suggests that she undergo a make-over for a feature article in the magazine where they are editors, she is horrified at the thought. This, and trouble at home, set the stage for Grace’s mini-breakdown and hilarious rise back from the ashes.

I wasn’t initially sure what to expect from a book entitled The Organic God. I envisioned the author chastising me about eating non-organic foods or some such nonsense. However, after reading just a few pages of this book, I was drawn in.

Rumors about that Chick-lit is on it’s way out. I just don’t think that’s the case. Keris, the editor of Trashionista, posted this today and I thought I’d pass it along.
“How often do you hear or read that chick lit’s time has passed? That publishers aren’t interested? That readers have moved on? Monthly? Weekly? (For me, while looking for stories for Trashionista, it’s daily.)
Yesterday I went to Borders to drink coffee and read the magazines without buying them (like you’ve never done it) and I was startled at the amount of chick lit (and a little bit of romance) in the front of store.

I’m a new reviewer at a Chick-lit site, Trashionista. I’m the “Inspirational Chick!”
I’m thrilled to get the chance to share Inspirational Lit with moms around the globe. Please check out Trashionista once my reviews start popping up and let them know there is interest out there. ![]()
