How we know chick lit is not dead

Rumors about that Chick-lit is on it’s way out. I just don’t think that’s the case. Keris, the editor of Trashionista, posted this today and I thought I’d pass it along.

“How often do you hear or read that chick lit’s time has passed? That publishers aren’t interested? That readers have moved on? Monthly? Weekly? (For me, while looking for stories for Trashionista, it’s daily.)

Yesterday I went to Borders to drink coffee and read the magazines without buying them (like you’ve never done it) and I was startled at the amount of chick lit (and a little bit of romance) in the front of store.

Read on to hear about the 48 books I spotted.”

I LOVE chick-lit and like you, spot it in every bookstore. Unfortunately, my trips to the “big city” (there are just 1,000 people in my little town), with the big bookstores, are always rushed, so I don’t have the time to enjoy one of the super-caffeinated drinks and browse books for the afternoon. Sigh.

Oh well, I wouldn’t give up my country life for anything . . . and someday I WILL have time to browse the books all afternoon. :-)
