Book Review: Knight in Shining Armor - Discovering your Lifelong Love by Philomina “Bunny” Wilson (P.B. Wilson)
Knight in Shining Armor by P.B. Wilson is a great read for any single Christian woman that wishes to one day marry. P.B Wilson reminds single women that they need to allow God, not the world, fashion them so that He can present them to their husbands.
All too often single Christian women get caught up in taking the matter of finding a husband into their own hands but P.B. Wilson gave a gentle reminder that when the time is right God will bring that special “Mr. Right” into your life. In the meantime she said that Christian women need to stop visiting places where men hang out and stop worrying about when, where and whether that special day will come.
I loved the challenge that she brings forth in her book for all single Christian women. She challenges any single women who are not dating at this moment to commit the next six months of their life to not dating. Instead she suggests that those six months should be spent allowing God to work with them in preparation for marriage. She warns women to be aware that during that six months of not dating that it’s possible Satan will come along and throw a counterfeit in there to try to distract you.
I laughed when I read the following statement in her book – “…if you do happen to meet someone during those six months tell them to call back at the end of the six months because right now God has you under construction.” She stated that if he sticks around and calls you after the six months then you’ll know he’s the one. The reason this made me laugh is because as a single woman myself that hasn’t dated in quite awhile the thought of turning down a date makes me chuckle and to think of the look of surprise on a man’s face when you tell them you are under construction for six months!
But after thinking about it, it makes perfect sense why she says to tell the prospective ‘date’ to call after six months because all too often Satan does throw something in our path to distract us.
I highly recommend P.B Wilson’s Knight in Shining Armor to all the single Christian women out there!
