Gone with the groom by Janice A. Thompson is another book where super-sleuth Annie Peterson comes alive. Last time Annie was solving the crime of the missing night deposit but this time she has moved her detective work from inanimate objects to a missing person. Not just any person but her daughter Brandi’s fiancĂ©!

Scott has always been a bit of a prankster but coming up with a disappearing act two weeks before the wedding is a bit much even for him. Or is it? Brandi receives a puzzling text message from Scott making her convinced it’s more than just him joking around. The message wouldn’t of concerned her so much if it hadn’t been short and cut off with the word but (I’m fine but…).

Annie and her daughter try to stay focused on the task at hand - finishing up last minute details for Brandi and Scott’s wedding that’s just a couple weeks away. Scott’s mom isn’t the least bit worried about Scott’s vanishing act and said it was just another one of his pranks and that the more they called his cell phone the longer he would play the game.

Pretty quickly it becomes apparent that this doesn’t seem to be just another one of Scott’s attempts at pranking everyone. Annie Peterson has kicked into her super sleuth mode again but this time around she isn’t the only sleuth in the family. Her husband Warren seems to be getting his feet wet in the detective business as well as their other daughter Candy.

Does Scott’s disappearance have anything to do with the Pharmaceutical position he has and the new drug that was about to be FDA approved when a bunch of side effects became apparent in patients? Or does it have something to do with Scott’s mom’s political campaign? Follow along as Annie Peterson sleuths her way through the mystery.

This was another edge of my seat book by Janice Thompson. I didn’t want to put it down until all the facts were revealed, all clues rounded up and mystery solved. I was captivated and held in suspense from the first chapter all the way to the end, never a dull moment! Twists and turns that I would of never expected.
