Candace Thompson is back at The Zone theme park to work “Scare,” the park’s Halloween celebration. Candace worked at The Zone over the summer (The Summer of Cotton Candy) and now she’s back to help out during the Halloween holiday.
Candace’s boyfriend, Kurt, works at the theme park full-time so she’s excited to be around him during work days. However, she’s not so excited about the job once she realizes that the character she’ll be dressing as is herself. The ride she’ll be working at is based on an adventure she and Kurt had over the summer being locked in the theme park after hours.
When Candace gets hurts and ends up stuck back at the candy cart selling candy corn, she knows it will be a long holiday. Soon she realizes that her accident may not have been so accidental … and that there are a lot of other strange things happening around The Zone. Can she figure out what’s going on?
This series is so much fun. Candace and her best friend are funny and a little quirky. Her boyfriend isn’t my favorite, but I’m hoping that’s a story for another book in the series. The amusement park setting gives the books a unique flavor that I haven’t found elsewhere. This is a sweet YA series and I’m already looking forward to book three.

Pastor Matt Woodley didn’t set out on his spiritual journey with the intention of becoming a fool. He was comfortable, respectable, and to be honest, nice. But somewhere along the way he realized that his life – and his faith – wasn’t all he wanted it to be. And it certainly wasn’t all that God wanted it to be either.
So without entirely knowing where he was going he embarked on an ancient path of holy folly, in the footsteps of a motley group of God followers. From the desert Christians of the fourth century to contemporary “fools” for Christ, he encountered men and women whose unconventional and settling faith was enough to jar him out of spiritual complacency.
Get ready to meet the holy fools. They’ll provoke you, disrupt you, challenge you, and at times make you laugh. But the one luxuary they won’t afford you is to sit on your chair unchanged.

Sometimes life has to unravel before you can knit it together…
On the third Friday of each month, Eugenie, Ruth, Esther, Merry, and Camille meet at the Sweetgum Christian Church to enjoy the two things that connect them: a love of knitting and a passion for books. Their camaraderie remains unthreatened until Eugenie, the town librarian, introduces an angry teenager into their midst. Eugenie also gives them a new reading list: the classic novels of girlhood that young Hannah has never read. Little Women. Pollyanna. Heidi.
With each click of their needles, the ladies of the Knit Lit Society unravel their secrets: a shadow from Eugenie’s past haunts the controlled order of her life. Merry’s perfect little family is growing again – but will she continue to feel her identity slip away? Camille dreams of leaving town but is bound by ties of love. And the sisters, Ruth and Esther, must confront a lie they have lived with for more than thirty years.
As Hannah is reluctantly stitched into their lives, the women discover the possibility that even in sleepy Sweetgum, Tennessee, they can still be the heroines of their own stories.
Beth Pattillo learned to knit in the second grade. She is the author of the book, Heavens to Betsy, the recipient of the Romance Writers of America Best Inspirational Romance Novel in 2006, and it’s sequel, Earth to Betsy. Beth lives with her husband and children in Tennessee.

Ever place they go leads to more trouble and excitement – whether it’s herding cattle across the Rio Grande, facing off against a crooked park ranger in the Chisos Mountains, or rounding up wild mustangs on a desert military testing ground.
