Review: The Fall of Candy Corn by Debbie Viguie

candycornCandace Thompson is back at The Zone theme park to work “Scare,” the park’s Halloween celebration. Candace worked at The Zone over the summer (The Summer of Cotton Candy) and now she’s back to help out during the Halloween holiday.

Candace’s boyfriend, Kurt, works at the theme park full-time so she’s excited to be around him during work days. However, she’s not so excited about the job once she realizes that the character she’ll be dressing as is herself. The ride she’ll be working at is based on an adventure she and Kurt had over the summer being locked in the theme park after hours.

When Candace gets hurts and ends up stuck back at the candy cart selling candy corn, she knows it will be a long holiday. Soon she realizes that her accident may not have been so accidental … and that there are a lot of other strange things happening around The Zone. Can she figure out what’s going on?

This series is so much fun. Candace and her best friend are funny and a little quirky. Her boyfriend isn’t my favorite, but I’m hoping that’s a story for another book in the series. The amusement park setting gives the books a unique flavor that I haven’t found elsewhere. This is a sweet YA series and I’m already looking forward to book three.
