Casey Wilkes is an investigative journalist on the run. Her last story destroyed the life of a psychopath who threatened to kill her. She leaves Oregon for Southern California and stays in her Aunt and Uncle’s house for a while until she can figure out what to do. In an attempt to get a job at a local paper, Casey takes on a story about an ice sculpting competition.
Jesse Dufour is working undercover for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, trying to bust a cash smuggling ring that is using an ice and trucking company as it’s cover. As an ice sculptor for the company’s catering business, Jesse is able to befriend those working in the smuggling ring.
When Casey comes snooping around the ice and trucking company, wanting an interview with Jesse about the upcoming ice sculpting competition, they both get more than they bargained for.
Both Casey and Jesse must learn to trust one another as Casey is hunted and Jesse does everything in his power to protect her while trying to not blow his cover.
In a plot full of twists and turns, this story does not disappoint. The more the characters learn of one another, the deeper the story goes. It’s an exciting page-turner with romance and intrigue around every corner.
