Indelible by Kristen HeitzmannSpurred on by memories of a tragic past, rescue volunteer Trevor McDaniel needs to protect others. When he saves a toddler from a mountain lion, his life is intertwined with Natalie Reeve’s — a gifted sculptor. However, her talent comes from an unusual disability, making it, at times both a blessing and a curse. Viewing Natalie as one more person needing saved, Trevor is determined to help her. It isn’t long before he realizes that maybe he is the one in need of rescuing.

Redford’s quiet and peaceful community is disrupted when a deeply disturbed individual becomes obsessed with the Trevor. With Trevor’s past rising like fog over a murky lake, he is pitted against an unknown adversary — someone who knows Trevor’s best guarded secrets.

In her latest novel, Indelible, Kristen Heitzmann expertly weaves a spell-binding tale of regret, hope, and forgiveness. It is a story of choices. The novel shows us that though trials will come, ultimately how we respond is our decision. We can fold beneath their weight, or rise above them.

Heitzmann brings to life unique characters that will draw the reader in, making him or her feel their pains, joys, and victories. With each passing page, the character’s plights became mine and suddenly seeing them succeed became personal. I loved how many of the characters had what many perceived as disabilities. However, they were actually gifts because it gave them a perspective that their “normal” counterparts lacked.

I strongly recommend this novel. My only regret is that I didn’t read the first book in the series, Indivisible, not because it’s necessary to follow the story, but because Indelible has such intriguing plots and appealing characters that I wished I had known more about their background.
