I received a copy of this new Bible from Tyndale to review and let me just say right away that I am going to start this review with a total rave. The Thrive Journaling Devotional Bible for Women is AMAZING. I know, that pretty much spoils the review, but seriously, this Bible has a ton of things I’ve been wishing I could find in Bibles for YEARS.  From the second I pulled it out of the sleeve, I was already in love with it and knew that it would be replacing my previous study Bible. So let’s get into it, shall we?

This is a slightly oversized hardcover Bible with a cloth covering.  That’s right. Cloth. It’s a rough fabric – think along the lines of a natural canvas. The spine of the Bible is also this same fabric, but it’s a beautiful teal (again with that gorgeous Tiffany blue color!) and there is stitching where it is pulled together with the ivory/natural fabric for the front.  The simplicity of it is striking when you see it.

When you hold this Bible in your hands, you can’t help but marvel at how solid it feels.  I carry my Bible everywhere with me and it tends to take a bit of a beating sometimes. This Bible feels like it will hold up to all my studies and transporting it everywhere with me.

The inside of the Bible is also gorgeous with the teal flowers you see on the sleeve throughout the pages, but it’s not just about looks. This Bible is a hardcore study Bible that is intended to be USED. There are plenty of spaces for notes on each page and there is a 365 day reading plan that allows you to check off and make notes when you have read. The opening pages of the Bible are also jam packed with a ton of Bible study tips and hints for how to not just read the Bible, but learn it and apply it.

The only thing I worry about is that with the cloth cover, it needs a really good protective covering and I’m not sure yet if I can find a Bible case that will adequately fit. It is possible that you might be able to carry the Bible around in the protective sleeve that it comes with, but I’m not sure how long that will protect it.

If you have a woman in your life who is an avid studier of God’s word, this would definitely be a treasured gift. And if you’re constantly jotting notes in the margin or wishing you had more space in your Bible, give this one a try. It’s designed for people like us!
