Sage and Delaney have known each other since they were kids. Growing up together at an orphanage called Quiver Full, they’re practically siblings. So when Delaney’s brother, Steven, asks Sage to watch over her while he’s on his honeymoon, Sage accepts. Delaney, or Dane as Sage calls her, has received threats and Steven simply wants his most trusted friend to keep an eye on her. Having just had surgery and on recovery leave from his job as a U.S. Marshall, Sage figures why not? How hard could it be to watch out for his best friend’s sister?

Working as a flight medic, Delaney is used to high pressure, stressful situations. But having a man break into her house and attack her rattles her to the core. At her brother’s wedding reception, another man corners her in an elevator but she escapes, thanks to Sage. Although she’s not happy with the arrangement her brother’s made for her to have a babysitter, Dane is still glad to have Sage back in town. In love with him since they were young, she wishes he would stay for good.

Journey’s Embrace is a romantic, suspenseful read with bold, alive characters. What Sage and Delaney face is believable and how their faith intertwines with their story is encouraging. I enjoyed the other characters as well and look forward to reading their stories in Journey’s Edge and Journey’s End.

Rated G: I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance.
