So Close to Amazing by KariAnne Wood
Reviewed by: Caitlin Anderson

DIY bloggers make it look so easy. A splash of modpodge here, a recycled washtub there, and with some twinkle lights thrown in artistically, you’ve got yourself a farmhouse chandelier that would make Joanna Gains jealous.

If only it worked like that. IF ONLY.

KariAnne Wood shares her life as the writer and artist behind the popular blog, Thistlewood Farms. And boy, does KariAnne keep it real! I found myself laughing at multiple times during the book as she shared how much of life is…So Close to Amazing. KariAnne isn’t perfect, nor does she pretend to be.

If you are a fan of HGTV or DIY blogs and have always wanted to sit down and chat with the personalities on screen, you’ll love this book. KariAnne shares humorous and deeply personal stories from her life that make it feel as if she’s sitting across from you, sharing her life in her bubbly manner.

Throughout the book, KariAnne shares projects that readers can make. The one I’m excited to try is a DIY giant farmhouse sign.

Rated G: Not a kid book but doesn’t have adult themes.
